This sounded interesting until I looked up the book value on it. It
is just $900. Details of the Kelly Blue Book pricing is below.
Engine: V6 3.8 Liter
Trans: Automatic
Drive: FWD
Mileage: 74,000

Equipment
Air Conditioning
Power Steering
Power Windows
Power Door Locks
Cruise Control
AM/FM Stereo

Consumer Rated Condition: Excellent
"Excellent" condition means that the vehicle looks new, is in
excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning. This
vehicle has never had any paint or body work and is free of rust. The
vehicle has a clean title history and will pass a smog and safety
inspection. The engine compartment is clean, with no fluid leaks and
is free of any wear or visible defects. The vehicle also has complete
and verifiable service records. Less than 5% of all used vehicles fall
into this category.

Private Party Value $900

Private Party Value is what a buyer can expect to pay when buying a
used car from a private party. The Private Party Value assumes the
vehicle is sold "As Is" and carries no warranty (other than the
continuing factory warranty). The final sale price may vary depending
on the vehicle's actual condition and local market conditions. This
value may also be used to derive Fair Market Value for insurance and
vehicle donation purposes.

This sounded interesting until I looked up the book value on it. It
is just
Harold, dude, lets be honest, you weren't really interested in the car. You
were just interested in showing everyone how bright you are. If you think
the price is too high, then just let it be. The seller will find out soon
enough. If you think that you are somehow protecting the unsuspecting
buyer, you're not. In fact you're doing the opposite. You are disuading
sellers from putting their items up for sale because the don't want to deal
with knuckleheads like you.

Anyone who knows anything about used cars GUIDES is that they are a starting
point. The definition of a really clean 20-year old car is not the same as
the definition of a really clean 2004 model. Likewise, as you get out past
seven or eight years old an increasing component of a car's value is the
utility it provides rather than the make model and equiptment. If the car
has 50 or a hundred thousand realatively trouble-free miiles left in it, how
could you possibly think it's only worth $900. Do I think it's worth three
grand? No. But I don't want another car right now, and he did say obo. If I
was a rural mail carrier or a phone book delivery person needing a car, I'd
be on the phone with them right now.
